Help me give my students some additional seating for our social/emotional learning class; standing desks, a rolling storage cart, stair stepper, lap desk, and a desk cycle.
I teach social emotional learning classes at SHS. In this course that I have created and designed, students learn self-advocacy, self-actualization skills and learn their strengths and weaknesses associated with their diagnosis of Autism, Emotional Disability and Other Health Impairment. We have flexible seating in the room which aides in focus and relaxation in the learning environment. My students are amazing, hard working and deserve a wonderful environment in which to learn the needed coping skills to help them thrive through the difficult teenage years. Having flexible seating allows students to gain the confidence needed to speak up in group sessions and receive the individualized seating to learn effectively.
My Project
In my classroom we have flexible seating (bean bag chairs, pillows, camp chairs, rocking chairs, and exercise balls). Many students need a variety of seating options to help with focus while learning the social emotional skills needed to excel in learning.
Please help me fund some unique items for my class of students with Autism, Emotional Disabilities and Other Health Impairments.
We would like to add a standing desk, a stair stepper and a portable desk cycle to add more variety to our room. Variety is the spice of life and my students love to spice up their learning environment!
