My students need flexible seating options to make completing their classwork fun and engaging! Flexible seating options also provides students with choices, which promotes a positive classroom community.
As an educator, I believe that each and every day is the start of a great adventure that I am fortunate enough to share with my second graders.
I have the great pleasure of working with 21 fantastic children on a daily basis.
It has always been my belief as a teacher that we have to "reach" our students before we can teach them. I am confident that in my second grade classroom, I have created a safe space where each child knows they are cared for and treated in a respectful manner.
My Project
Flexible seating options create a positive learning community for all students to grow and learn within. It also provides classroom choice which proves to engage students and encourage positive behaviors!
One hour of our school day is set aside for students to participate in independent activities that offers them the opportunity to find a quiet spot within our classroom to complete their independent work.
Currently, we are lacking inviting and comfy spaces for students to complete their work. I am hopeful that with your donations, I will be able to purchase 10 stools and 2 bean bag chairs for my students to enjoy when completing their independent work. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
