Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of 18 exceptional students who shine in their own ways! These students have been ready to learn since day one and have only continued and preserved throughout the COVID-19 experience. As they learned, these students have also taught. They've taught each other, but they have also taught me so many things about being a teacher and how children learn.
My Project
Children love to wiggle around! By providing the students flexible seating options, they will be able to move about the room and choose which seating option will allow them to focus and yield productivity! I'm sure everybody who is working from home during COVID-19 has experienced how hard it is to sit in one spot all day, now imagine the students who have to do that all day at school! By funding this project, you are promoting a classroom that encourages students to feel comfortable in their learning environment as well as providing them the options to express their movement inside the classroom in healthy and safe ways (e.g., no more leaning back in chairs and falling).
