My students come in a little shy and apprehensive about school at first but once they spend a couple hours in the classroom, they are eager to learn! We are in a rural area and many students do not have access to technology or even books at home. Although some may not have the support at home, they get as much support and love once they step into my classroom. We build a strong sense of community and friendships all while learning through hands on activities, participate in group projects and of course, reading lots of books!
My Project
I plan on using these wobble chairs at my small group table. The wobble chairs will allow my students to be comfortable while learning to read. 5 and 6 year olds aren’t meant to sit still and these chairs will allow them to be able to move while focusing on all content areas. The bright colors will brighten up the classroom and make learning more accessible for all students, especially those who struggle with ADHD. I want to be able to meet the needs of all my students. Giving them chairs that are comfortable and allow for movement will only enhance their learning.
