My students need flexible seating options such as balance ball chairs, balancing pods, wobble seat cushions, and sensory foot bands in our classroom for focus.
In our classroom, we like to move around and get our wiggles out. My students are extremely fun and active.
Flexible seating would benefit my busy friends, as it would help them get their wiggles out while staying in their seat.
I absolutely love to watch the light bulbs go off and see my students so excited to learn. There is nothing more exciting for a teacher than to know that her students want to be at school and look forward to coming each day.
My Project
During a portion of the day, my students have to sit to do their work, such as reading groups and some centers. For most, this is not an issue but for first graders it can be a hard task. The items chosen are incredible tools to use in the classroom for focus.
Just like children, we do not all learn in the same way.
I have students who prefer to sit on the floor, some prefer to stand, and others prefer to sit in a seat. I want my students to be able to sit and learn in the ways that they feel most comfortable and are the most focused.
Flexible seating would provide my sweet students with the opportunity to maximize their learning as well as our class time.
