My students are in an urban school where the majority of them come from a low income household. My students are very eager learners and like a variety of materials to assist them in their educational journey.
The students have many different learning styles and in order for me to meet these learning styles it is important that I incorporate flexible seating within my classroom.
My students come together from different backgrounds and are excited to greet each new day. My students are a great group of students as I had them last year in 4th grade. They have a lot of energy and love learning and having fun while doing it!
My Project
My students work best when they are comfortable. I want my students to be able to choose the way they want to sit so they can be better focused on activities during the school day. Some of my students prefer a desk and chair, but some do not. Some students learn best by sitting on a bean bags at the carpet area, while others need to sit on wobble cushions to help them focus. It is important to me that my students have a choice in which learning space feels comfortable so that they can maximize their learning potential. Therefore, I would like to get flexible seating items such as soft seats, bean bag chairs, reader chairs, and other items that give them a choice of seating. The goal of having flexible seating within my classroom is to allow the students a choice of seating while I am presenting a lesson or while they are working on a specific lesson on their own.
