My students need flexible seating like Wobble Cushions or Comfy Floor Seats , as their bodies cannot handle sitting in a standard chair for too long. We'd also appreciate a binder for each student to contain all of their morning routine materials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are diverse learners, though many of us share the same cultural background. They come from different homes, where they've experienced different learning opportunities. They come to me, hopeful, that I can offer them the chance to learn and grow on a level playing field. They are students attending a title 1 school, with the same dreams and aspirations as students from affluent districts. They depend on my colleagues and I to help them get to where they want to go. They provide the determination, and the brilliance; I provide the guidance, knowledge, and often times, the tools.
My Project
Humans learn the best when they are comfortable and safe. Standard seating is not comfortable for long periods of time. Also, some students need movement, and the ability to fidget. That is perfectly okay! We just need help providing the seating for these little ones. In an average first grade class, I will have at least two learners with special needs that will absolutely benefit from the added comfort and security that flexible seating can provide. Increased comfort equals increased learning at this critical age when every skill and bit of knowledge sets the foundation for the next 11 years.
