Help me give my students wobble stools and yoga ball chairs so they have the ability to move around and be comfortable while working hard on activities and everyday life skills.
My students are an awesome group of special education students that range from ninth grade to age twenty-one. In my class, they learn academic and life skills that they will need after finishing the program.
My students strive to be as independent as possible.
Having flexible seating and different sensory items can have a great impact on my students and their ability to work hard and stay focused. Currently, we have a couple flexible seating items that the students all love. It would be awesome if we had items that all students could use at all times instead of attempting to take turns throughout the week with what we currently have.

My Project
My students will greatly benefit from having flexible seating to use. Many of my students struggle to sit and stay focused on their independent activities. Having flexible seating options will allow them to move around while working, allowing them to be more comfortable while still staying in one area so they can complete their activity.
My students have a wide variety of abilities and needs.
Many of them have goals to stay in one area while completing a task. This is a skill that they will need when pursuing employment after leaving my classroom. Having their sensory needs met through the use of flexible seating, will help them work toward this goal.
