My students need flexible seating in the classroom. Having options will make reading and classwork more enjoyable for students. By adding floor chairs, students will be able to sit comfortably on the floor.

My Students

O'Maley Middle School is the only middle school in Gloucester. Our community is diverse and full of students with many needs. Middle School is a time when many students are no longer eager to learn. Having options within the classroom is one way to get students to enjoy the school environment.

In English Language Arts, it is important to encourage the love of reading.

While reading, my students get tired of sitting at their desks all day and prefer sitting on the floor. I want to encourage students to read and to sit where they want. Providing floor chairs will make students comfortable while reading.

My Project

Today in the workforce, companies supply various environments for their employees. People have different needs that need to be met in order to be successful. By providing flexible seating, classrooms are preparing students for successful futures.

My goal is to make class enjoyable, engaging, and stress-free while still accommodating all of my student's needs.

I would like to give students a variety of options for working in class to meet all of their needs. As a result, students will enjoy coming to class because they are able to work to their best abilities in an environment that they feel comfortable in.
