My classroom is a place of wonder! My students are engaged in everything, from learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin, to how to build a town map about our community. At our school, we incorporate hands-on projects for our students to experience thinking and creating.
My classroom is lively and fun!
My students are filled with curiosity and wonder. My students love to draw and make connections with the learning around them. I incorporate rich children's literature into the kindergarten curriculum and our project based learning. My students love Reader's Workshop! My students are very creative. They love art, drama and reading. These wonderful creative thinkers align with our STEAM curriculum. Our school brings project based learning to our students by integrating the disciplines. For example, my students love our engineering projects. They come alive when working with a partner to build a design project. I see what my students are learning in the maker-space, and it carries over into our classroom. Mostly, they learn how to share ideas and listen to how to solve problems in many different ways. Our public school opened just last year, and we are in need of books and technology.
My Project
Each student has their own unique style of learning so why limit them to only one style of seating? It has been proven over and over again that flexible seating in a classroom improves student motivation and success.
Flexible seating will give my students options to be comfortable in an environment that is conducive to learning.
I don't want their days of learning to consist of just sitting at a table, sitting on a hard chair. The balance balls will benefit fidgety learners to work independently, as well as the soft cushioned materials will give my students options to find the right smart spot for working.
