My 25 third graders are bright, kind, hardworking, and very rambunctious. We are at a Title I school, where the majority of the children come from a low socioeconomic background and have challenging home lives.
The kids are extremely curious and eager to learn, but need much support to help them be successful.
In order to meet the needs of this diverse group of students, I try to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, engaging activities, partner and group work, and movement throughout the day.
I am continuously looking for new ways to help my students be successful—both in and outside of the classroom.
Research has shown that we learn better when we move. Our school has been generous enough to provide 4 yoga balls to help our students incorporate movement into their learning. I have noticed a tremendous difference since utilizing these--they are better able to concentrate, and their stamina has increased significantly.
By donating to this project, you would be helping provide additional flexible seating options for students who struggle to concentrate.
These Comfify Activity Chairs will let these little learners get their "wiggles" out, while getting their work done! The chairs not only allow for movement, but also give the children a Core workout too! These stools will be especially beneficial as we approach standardized testing season.
