I am the proud teacher of 20 in-class students and 1 virtual student. My school district is comprised of mostly low income families on free and reduced lunch. Although most students come from this background they are eager to learn and absorb new knowledge. Each day in my Classroom is a new adventure of exciting social, emotional and educational experiences.
My Project
Last year I started flexible seating in my classroom. The students enjoyed being able to choose how they learned for each lesson. This year, I would like to add to my collection of options. I believe that students are better behaved and more willing to learn when they are able to have a choice in how they learn.
I am asking for assistance in purchasing several additional types of flexible seating options.
If successful, this project would add at least 12-15 more options to my growing flexible seating classroom. Students in my class look forward to selecting their seat for the lesson and have proven to pay more attention to the lesson when they are able to make their own seating choice.
