My students need flexible seating. Their little bodies aren't meant for regular desk seating. Every child learns in a different way. We need seating where we are comfortable and can move around the classroom.

My Students

My class is a group of 19 amazing, fun, loving and caring Kindergarten students. They are ages 5 and 6 years old. They love to dance, play, create and build. They are always eager to learn new things and love sharing the skills they have learned.

They are smart, creative and responsible.

They love to visit their literacy centers and enjoy hands on activities where they can explore and create. Their combination of a “can do” attitude and their cooperation and responsibility make them a delight to teach and work with.

My Project

I am requesting flexible seating for my 19 kindergarten students. They need to be able to move around the classroom and work where they are most comfortable. My philosophy really is, “sit, kneel, stand – just learn!” I want every child to feel comfortable while learning. Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating will allow my kindergarten students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed through out the day. Flexible seating would benefit EVERY child in my classroom.
