Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work in a Title I school. I teach Kindergarten, and they are so excited to be in school for the first time. They are so eager and willing to learn. My students have such a joy for learning and feel so proud of themselves when they understand a concept. My favorite part of kindergarten is watching their growth from where they start to reading and writing sentences. They bring such joy and positivity that I want to give them the best learning environment I can!

My Project

My students tend to move around and wiggle in the traditional seats. Children learn differently and require different needs. Not every child learns in a desk, sitting in a standard chair. It is my job as the teacher to create different styles of learning and an environment for optimal learning. I believe the students should be comfortable in their learning environment so they can focus on obtaining information and applying their knowledge. The flexible seating which includes wobble stools, cushions for the floor, and foldable chairs, will allow the students to have options on which spot fits their needs the most. They will be able to learn and grow to reach their fullest potential.
