My Students
Our elementary school is a neighborhood school, which means the majority of the students live less than 1 mile away. We are also Title 1 school which is over 90 percent free and reduced lunch. We have a high population of students who are in the ELL (English Language Learners) program.
My homeroom class is an ESE inclusion class, which serves students with specific learning disabilities.
My second class is an ESOL class which serves students who are English language learners. I teach both classes math and science.
My Project
I have a few flexible seating options for my students, but I don't have enough for all of them. Every day students miss out on using these seats because another student is faster. Ever since I began using flexible seating in my classroom, I have noticed that my students are more excited about school and pay more attention in class. I would really like to be able to provide ALL of my students with a stool to sit on instead of the typical school seats. Having the stools will give my students the freedom to work wherever they want in the classroom without having to sit on the dirty floor.
