Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low income homes, the majority are at risk students and are English Language learners. They face many struggles, yet they come to school with a positive attitude and willingness to do more than is asked from them.
In my classroom I encourage my students to “synergize” and collaborate to solve problems.
I enjoy watching them being proactive and taking charge of their learning. When they see a fellow student struggling, they step in to help them out. My students know that in my classroom we are a family and they treat each other with love and respect.
My Project
Flexible seating plays an important role in a student centered classroom. It gives the students choice and allows them to take ownership of their learning.
Flexible seating provides a comfortable and safe environment where the student can thrive and learn at their own pace.
I give my students choice but we are currently limited to desks, tables and a couple of beach chairs. With the flexible seating that I have selected, my students will have a variety of seating options to choose from to help them make effective learning choices. The wobble cushions and the comfy floor seats will make working on the floor comfortable and learning more enjoyable.
