Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing class of first graders who are ready and willing to learn. They are excited to try new things, work together to solve problems, and explore the world around them. Our district does its best to provide our classroom with all the items we need to learn, but it cannot provide everything. Being my first year teaching 1st grade, I find myself going into my wallet to purchase the extras my classroom needs. I’m proposing this grant to help enrich my students' learning with supplies we otherwise would not have.
I hope to find ways to make my students' school learning experience the best it can be and create the desire within them to be lifelong learners.
My class enjoys reading, art, computer lab time, and they especially love our hands-on science projects. They are a joy to work with every day. I hope this grant will enrich our class with the supplies needed to complete our flexible seating classroom.
My Project
My students learn in different ways. It is my job to provide them with different ways to learn. I was doing research and recently purchased some flexible seating for my classroom. I am in need of tables that adjust to different heights to accommodate the new seating. I want to provide my students with more learning opportunities in the classroom. They struggle to work to their best potential when they are reminded to sit in a typical chair or desk. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
My students deserve opportunities in the classroom that they might not get in their daily lives at home.
Giving them opportunities to learn in different ways is the key to a successful classroom. Classrooms with flexible seating give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them. This will help them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. With these ECR4 Kids tables, my students will not only be able to make a choice of how they learn, but they will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand.
