My Students

I teach third grade at a Title I school where my students are not provided many opportunities that some of their more affluent peers are provided. Many come from one-parent families or are raised by grandparents or other family members. Some are refugees from war-torn countries.

Even with all of that, one thing they all have in common is their love to learn!

They are excited and engaged when something interests them, but in order to help keep them engaged, they need resources like up-to-date books and other materials that their parents cannot often afford. So I have to rely on sites like DonorsChoose or use my own funds to help provide opportunities for my students.

My Project

I have a bunch of 3rd graders who love to move while they work! I need something that keeps their bodies moving while they also are able to get work done. The chair requested would also encourage students to come to my guided reading table to small groups, as they would be excited to sit on the wobble stool.

Flexible seating allows students to move their bodies, while also keeping their minds active and focused!

Flexible seating is a way to offer students choice in their learning. The product I have selected will allow my students to stay safe and healthy, while also allowing them to wiggle and wobble. The item can be sanitized easily and used for years to come!

While my students have done an incredible job of showing their resilience this year, some still struggle with the restrictions of learning in a pandemic. This flexible seating option will allow my students to make active choices in their learning.
