My Students
My classroom is made up of 26 active fourth grade students. They come to school each day energetic and ready to learn! In our classroom, movement and hands-on learning is vital for student engagement and overall success. Many of my students enjoy sitting anywhere but their chairs! Standing, sitting on stools or beanbags, and on the floor with clipboards are just a few of the places you will find my students. As a teacher, I like to encourage my students to have a choice in everything they do, especially within our classroom.
My fourth graders are excited about their learning and are constantly developing a sense of accountability toward their overall success.
I want to continue to foster an environment where they are able to make choices that benefit their learning and overall success within the classroom. By having flexible seating, students will be able to take control of their learning environment to best meet their needs in order to enhance motivation and focus!
My Project
The balance balls and Yoga mats will make a difference for my students by keeping them engaged and comfortable during lessons. It will also meet the different needs of students in order for them to have the best learning environment possible. Each student will be able to stay focused on their learning and engaged by being able to make a seating choice that best fits them. Many students learn differently and being able to accommodate that within the classroom will allow my students to do their best and stay as focused as possible throughout the day. I believe flexible seating will drastically change learning within my classroom!
