I teach in a Special Education Inclusion Kindergarten classroom with an amazing with 16 students. Two students have autism. Three have ADHD. Two have anxiety. We also have an English Language Learner.
Our class is very diverse, but our students are full of personality!
They are very loving and give the best hugs! With a class of 11 boys, they are also full of energy! They are always on the move! Our students love to wiggle, bounce, run, and jump!
My Project
Flexible seating promotes successful learning! Our wiggly little ones need to move! Flexible seating will allow our students to wobble, rock, and bounce! Wobble chairs , scoop rockers, and flex balls provide students with comfortable seating choices, promote focus, and limit distractions.
Many flexible seating options stimulate students’ sense of touch.
This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD.
Flexible seating also encourages sharing and turn taking! Students are also allowed to pair up easily and work in small groups easily.
Most importantly, flexible seating makes learning fun!
