I have a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds of students. The children at M. are always so excited to be at school. The classroom gets quite crowded at times with so many children and the fact that they are older and bigger than the little kids.
I love to incorporate flexible seating and options for my 5th graders.
By having a larger carpet, the class can gather in an area for reading, writing, and math instruction. It enables us to get "cozy", but still remain in their own space.
I teach 5th graders and even though their bodies are growing. They still love to sit on the floor to gather as a class or work in small groups. My school does not have carpet and it would be nice to have a large carpet for them to sit on as a class.
When 25 - 30 fifth graders gather on the floor, they take up a large amount of space.
The rug also needs to need the fire code and therefore, those types of rugs can get expensive. I have found the perfect fit for our 5th grade classroom!
