Ms. Marcell from Charleston SC is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need lap desks, cushions, and pillow chairs as alternative seating options while working in our small reading groups, small math groups, completing assignments, and taking assessments.

The students at my middle and high school are from various backgrounds and come from all over the county. In particular, I am working mostly with 6th graders who receive extra services, both pushing in to their general education classes and giving them support in smaller groups. I run a small reading group and a small math group, as well as help students with organizational strategies, social skills, and behavioral support. As this is my first year teaching at this school, I have identified materials I don't have at the moment that would be useful daily.
I am looking to diversify classroom materials and procure supplemental materials in order to reach each student's individual needs.
We are excited to build our craft supply area, our class library, alternative seating options, and to use supplemental materials to further our learning in various subject areas. These materials will help our students blossom into self-confident readers, artists, mathematicians, and scholars.

Some of our students prefer to stand while working, and others request to sit on the carpet or another quiet corner of the room.
We are especially looking forward to "The Surf Portable Lap Desk/Laptop Stand/Writing Table". This light-weight, easily maneuverable stand will allow our students to write or use their school issued Chromebook while sitting on the floor, standing at a desk, and sitting in various seats both inside and outdoors! The Relax-N-Read Pillow Chair and yoga bolsters pillows will compliment the "lounge" area of our classroom, where students can sit or lay in a carpeted area to complete work. We are excited to diversify our seating options so that each student can complete their work with ease and comfort.
