Our school and students are simply the BEST! I have not met the incoming class yet, but if they are anything like years past they will be excited to learn, determined to do hard things, and demonstrate respect and kindness towards one another.
My classroom is an inclusion classroom, which means some students are on IEPs and some are models...but that doesn't stop of us from doing hard things every single day!
Every student that enters my classroom has the potential to do great things. I want to empower them to take control and be active participants in their learning rather than passive recipients of knowledge. My students are special because they are Burkland's Best!
Nobody is meant to sit still all day...especially the youngest of learners! While I can't give them more recess (even though I wish I could), I can provide ways to move their bodies safely within the classroom.
Flexible seating allows students to self-regulate and be more comfortable doing their work.
I have found giving them seating options keeps students more engaged than ever before. Wobble stools, bean bags, and yoga balls will allow students to get their wiggles out even more all while concentrating on the most challenging task...learning to read and write!
With your donations, my students will have more options and tools to help them succeed! Thank you so much!
