I teach at a small, rural, low, social economic school. Currently, my students sit in desks and in different sized chairs at my horseshoe tables. My students would greatly benefit from the same size stools at the tables during group time.
With the flexible seating, students will be able to work on their independence, balance,and other individual goals that they each have.
My students range in abilities with educational, mental, speech, and physical impairments. Each student works not only on Common Core Standards but also on individual goals to be their best.
My Project
My students are special and would greatly benefit from these flexible seating options to increase their comfort and independence in the classroom.
The different requested flexible seating options will make it possible for my students to work to their potential as independently as possible in the classroom.
The laptop desks make it feasible for students to be able to move throughout the classroom with their Chromebooks, where they can work on assignments at their own pace.
The stools will help with balance while students are in groups and help facilitate more cooperative learning.
The balance balls will work with students' individual goals with occupational skills.
