My students need more seating options, such as exercises balls, balance seats and bands to attach to regular chairs, to help them become comfortable, focused, and better learners.
My kindergarten students love to find places to cuddle up and read or work together. My classroom has just a few pillows so when my students read they race to be the first to get the pillows and pick their spot. I love seeing them get excited about reading time and work together. It brings me such joy to see them work as a community. But, I hate that my students have to race to be first because of our limited supply. Having more flexible seating options will allow my students to flourish in the way they learn by having excitement and ownership throughout their day.
My Project
We are requesting exercises balls, balance seats and bands to attach to regular chairs, to help them become comfortable, focused, and better learners. My students are from all different walks of life. Many of my students come from homes where they have very limited access to expand their education.
I want my classroom to be a fun, safe escape from every day life where they enjoy coming to school and learning.
With these resources my students will have the comfort of working and learning in the way that helps them flourish. Students can chose where they would like to sit each day through a variety of different seating options. Being comfortable helps them to succeed in learning. When students are comfortable and happy they will look forward to learning and coming to school each day!
