I have 22 amazing students in my classroom, each of whom come to school eager to learn and participate. My students (like all kids nowadays) are technology savvy and enjoy the use of various platforms of technology to engage in their 21st-century educational experience. We are a blended learning campus where each student is looked at as an individual and each student is set to grow and learn on their own path in the way that is best for them.
My students are incredibly hard working and always do whatever it takes to be successful in school.
My campus is in a border community and my students often come to me with little prior knowledge or real-world experiences to draw from or apply during our lessons and activities. Though my students may not come to me with these experiences they do come to me with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn, grow and be successful. Every day my students inspire me to better myself as a teacher and bring them the best classroom experiences possible.
My students need a variety of flexible seating options for their success and comfort in the classroom. In a blended learning environment students are working at their own pace on areas they each individually need so it only makes sense that the students can also choose a spot and seat in the classroom that is most comfortable for them as well.
Studies show that students learn better and retain more of what they are learning while they are active and comfortable in their learning.
Students are able to choose what makes them comfortable in the classroom, they can choose to bounce, sit, stand or lay down while they are actively engaged in the classroom. Flexible seating will significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want all of my students to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I know how great of an impact this project will have on my students and I cannot wait to see how high we soar with these new seating options.
