I have 21 first graders who are amazing students with a great love of learning. My students have a passion for creating and discovering new things while working together in our classroom community.
My students come from various backgrounds and are all quite unique individuals.
My goal is to always provide them with the best learning opportunities that I can. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping that my students will continue on a path of academic excellence. My first graders love learning and are always excited for opportunities to grow as students. The more they learn and participate in meaningful experiences, the more they are engaged and learning each day!
Having different seating options allows students to have more autonomy and freedom to take charge of their learning. For my many students who have focus disabilities, this would allow them to move and wiggle while working without distracting other students.
Flexible seating also allows students to learn in a way that works best for them.
As students work, they will be able to choose a location and seating option in the classroom that works for them. This project will help kick start our path to flexible seating. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
The floor chairs and cushions allow students to use clip boards and work anywhere in the room. Students can move as they learn and work independently, in partnerships, or in groups.
