I teach in Title I public school that is located right outside of Saint Louis, Missouri. My students enjoyed problem-based learning, breakouts, and experiments. Learning from experience is a HUGE part of my classroom and to better facilitate this type of learning we need to change our space to accommodate our exploration.
Working with students is my passion, and I cannot wait to create a more student centered learning environment.
My students enjoy hands on experiences and the traditional classroom accommodations just aren't cutting it. We are scientist, economists, authors, and historians who need a workspace that is as unique as we are!
My Project
I have the privilege or partnering with a special educator next year to teach a class within a class. With the diverse amount of students in my room, I need flexible seating to accommodate the hands on projects we will be doing in our classroom.
My students enjoy hands-on learning and they need a student centered workplace to enhance their learning experience.
Wobble chairs and balance balls will be used to help students move their bodies, while also learning and maintaining focus. A small rectangular table will be lowered to the ground so that students can sit on wiggle pobs and work closer to the ground. Finally surf tables will be used to help students sit on the floor while also keeping our 1:1 laptops safe!
