My students need choice when it comes to seating in our classroom to help maximize their learning! These options will allow them to feel safe and comfortable in our learning environment!
"Mistakes help us learn!" This is the motto that we live by in Room 302. My students are a community of learners that come from a high poverty area with a very low socio-economic status. To a lot of these students, school is their safe space to grow, learn, and close the achievement gap to create a better future for themselves and their families.
Our room has high energy and students have a lot of opportunities to grow.
Every student in our classroom brings their own unique abilities and eagerness to learn. Despite the obstacles that many of the students must overcome, they come each day with smiles on their face, excited to take on new challenges!
My Project
Each year it is my goal to make Our room a second home to all of the students that I have. This includes building an environment that feels safe and comfortable for all to learn.
Just like everyone learns differently, each student has different needs when it comes to being comfortable while doing the learning.
I would like my students to have more options when it comes to seating in our classroom so that they can feel calm, comfortable, and ready each and every day. When kids love the space in which they learn, it makes it so much better!
The items that are being donated are different seating options that will be utilized in my classroom. Everyday students will get to choose which option will help them learn best that day. A wobble stool for when they feel like moving, a tray to be more comfortable on the ground, a foam pad to kneel or sit on while working at a lower table, an excerise ball to keep focused on a task instead of fidgeting, or a disc for sitting around the room or working at a sitting table. It is my goal that these tools will help student gain focus while making the classroom a place that they want to be!
