Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from all over Baltimore City with different backgrounds and experiences. Some students have traveled to different countries while others live in poverty. Many of the students have involved families that are willing to help however possible, and other students are acting as caretakers for their younger siblings. My students love to read and work hard to please. It is our job as educators to give them all the best educational experiences possible and meet their individual needs.

My Project

My students will greatly appreciate flexible seating options to complete their work! With all of the demands of school work today, students need to feel comfortable to be able to focus and put forth their best effort. Students entering third grade go through a lot of changes in curriculum, maturity, and work load compared to second grade. With the use of bean bag chairs and wobble stools, students will be able to move and get their wiggles out while still completing their demanding assignments in third grade. The high demands of state testing can be curbed through a comfortable learning environment.
