I am a second year kindergarten teacher and am so excited about using flexible seating and these incredible resources in my classroom! My students work together as a team everyday to grow and succeed.
In kindergarten, we have a lot of learning and growing to do.
Everyday we are expanding our knowledge and making leaps and bounds. My students have grown so much since the beginning of the year and I cannot wait to see where they are at the end of the year!
These students love learning and get so excited when they master a new skill! They amaze me everyday. Not only do they love learning, but they love to teach and help each other along the way as well.
My Project
In kindergarten, we like to move! There is no sitting still, and that's ok! Having flexible seating in my classroom would give the students more control of their environment. I have pillows and cushions that the students love to sit on while they read. Having Balance Ball Seats would be one more option they would get to choose from. It is important to give students choices. They feel empowered when they get to make choices and choices are not made for them.
I want my students to feel that they have ownership in the classroom.
That means that all of the materials in the classroom are theirs to use. Some students work best when they are laying on their tummy with a clipboard, some work best sitting in a chair at a table, some work best with they are criss-cross on a cushion, and some work best when they are bouncing up and down in a rhythm! In our homes, we choose where we want to sit. I want my classroom to feel just like a home.
Having these materials in our classroom would be so exciting and beneficial for my little ones!
