My Students

My students are part of an structured environment, self-contained classroom. In my classroom, we focus on positive behaviors and social thinking. In this self-contained setting, these students use many calming techniques in order to manage their own behavior and strive to make good choices.

I love that my students have such individual personalities and interests.

It makes the classroom environment very unique and each student has something special to add to the classroom. We work together as a team in order to fight the negative feelings that each student faces throughout the day. We are building that trust and comfort together.

My Project

My students have various needs. They are comforted by having different options for seating besides just the hard metal desk chairs. These boys are unable to learn effectively if they are uncomfortable. Other options have been used in the classroom and have helped but they were only temporary fixes. These boys have behavioral needs that can be helped by feeling comfortable in their classroom.

My boys would love to get the chance to wobble while they work!

The wobble chairs provide the students with more freedom in the classroom environment and strengthen their core. I want to do anything in my power to make them feel comfortable in our room for the year.
