First grade is a beehive of learning! My students are learning how to work cooperatively in small groups and independently in centers. They love to experiment and learn! Children are engaged and learn more when they are able to use hands-on, interactive materials.
My students are capable of amazing things; any challenge I set before them, they conquer and ask for more!
My school and community are very supportive, however my classroom is missing the funds needed for supplies to reinforce learning. I want to inspire my students to love learning.
My Project
Choice in seating is important when engaging students. Flexible seating allows students to choose which seat works best for their comfort and individual learning styles. Stability ball chairs will help my students who need to bounceand move around to stay focused and engaged in their own learning.
Flexible seating will help my students get their wiggles out while learning.
Students should not have to sit still all day. Some of my students prefer to stand at their desks. We currently have a couple cushions and wobble chairs for our reading centers. By adding a variety of seating choices, my students will be more engaged and excited to learn. They will be able to get out their excess energy and focus. Flexible seating helps give students a voice in their learning.
