My Students

I teach a first grade classroom with a variety of abilities. Each child in my classroom learns differently and needs different classroom materials to help them learn. They are full of energy and comes to school with a smile every day. They learn to share, make wise choices, and problem solve each day they are here through flexible seating. They can choose where they would like to work to best meet their bodies' needs. To provide them with that classroom environment, they need a variety of seating options such as wobble chairs, stools, pillows, and yoga mats. Different seating options will allow all students to choose what works best for them.

My Project

The products I have selected will give my students choices in different seating options to focus on instruction and work independently. This will also teach them to problem solve through flexible seating choices. This will help them learn to make good choices and share with peers. The wobble chairs will allow students to sit at desks/tables and be able to wiggle if needed. The soft seat will allow them to sit on the floor in different areas of the classroom other than just the classroom rug. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential part of motivation to learn in a classroom environment.
