Our students are from a low socioeconomic neighborhood where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Some of our students are the first generation in their family to attend school, so we know that school isn't always a priority in their families.
When the students come into my classroom, I want them to know that I believe in them and their learning achievements!
I genuinely care for each and every student who walks through my door. I want to motivate, encourage, and watch students grow with their reading instruction and independent reading.
My Project
Because my students are from a low-socioeconomic neighborhood, I believe that it is important to engage their learning with up-to-date educational trends. Flexible seating options have been researched to help students engagement while decreasing students misbehaving. Flexible seating allows for my students to fully immerse themselves into small group lessons as well as engaging their mind.
By funding our flexible seating stools, our class will be able to focus on their learning while having different seating options than just a standard chair.
With many classrooms over the country utilizing flexible seating options, many have had positive changes in their classroom academically and with their students positive behavior changes.
