Ms. Slauson from Lagrange GA is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need (like most adults need) flexible seating options including 6 Wobble Learning Stools to improve attention, increase a positive learning community, and engage all learners as needed for an innovative learning environment.

1 Scholar Lane is home to SEVERAL scholars. Not only is it a home, but it is where most of our students feel safe. Teaching 5th grade scholars is SO MUCH FUN. It has proved to be extremely rewarding. There’s nothing quite like student who is about to transition to middle school. These students are more than my students - they are my kids.
Our 5th grade classroom is Home to a very diverse group of enthusiastic learners!
I teach almost 60 students who come from different ethnic backgrounds, different home lives, and who have different views of the world. In my classroom, we build a community where students can trust and respect one another. We encourage and motivate one another as we learn academic content. We truly are a family. These students are such an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to be able to work with them again! (I taught most of my students in 3rd grade).
This Donors Choose project is geared towards adding more flexible seating options in my classroom. This particular project is specific to the addition of 6 wobble stools. Students would maximize the use of the stools daily, but especially during our small group math instruction. The idea behind flexible seating is that students have the opportunity to pick the best seating option where they can do their best work and be successful.
CHOICE allows my students to thrive during lessons and encourages students to feel more safe much like a home-like environment.
Students will do more and explore more when they feel valued and when they feel safe - which is what my own personal goal is for my classroom - an engaging, comforting, safe, and active learning environments where my scholars can shine.
