Help me give my students portable lap desks so they can sit on the carpet and type stories or read independently without having to constantly be in their seats.
My 4th grade students are motivated, excited about learning, and full of energy! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects! They work well in groups and thrive on sharing ideas with each other.
Most importantly, we are a family and my main focus is to teach my students to be kind, thoughtful, caring people when they enter and exit my classroom.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the strengths and needs vary from student to student. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
In our classroom, we have daily independent reading and writing time. The portable lap desks will give my students another opportunity to work comfortably around the room. I believe that allowing them to choose the space in which they work that they will become even more successful. I want my students to feel comfortable within our classroom in order to help them grow to their fullest potential.
