My students need flexible seating such as floor seats and soft seats and storage options such as a small computer desk to increase their engagement during large group activities and provide comfortable seating during choice play time.
My inclusive classroom is full of compassionate and creative young children. Our program is two half-day sessions per day and each class has a mix of typical students and students with disabilities. The children are unique and curious and love being in a supportive and inclusive environment. My school is very purposeful in celebrating the special gifts each child has and that each child has the possibility to grow and flourish in their individual way.
My goal in our classroom is an environment that is safe, stimulating, and supportive of all children.
Our vision at our school is “the possibilities are endless.” My hopes are that not only are the possibilities endless but that my students know our classroom will always be calm and comforting and responsive to each individual child.
My Project
My students all have unique characteristics and abilities that make our classroom thrive. I would like to provide more seating options for them depending on their needs and preferences that will help give them a comfortable spot during our meeting times. I would also like a smaller computer desk that will allow for more space for my students to gather near our SmartBoard. We need more space to feel safe and also to provide room for our movement breaks. We need flexible seating options to help my students with sensory needs and to help give every child their own defined space.
