This year's class is a group of amazing kids who are full of energy. I have made a goal of more movement each day to help my students be able to focus. My students love to learn, especially when we do engaging hands-on projects. I try to incorporate many styles of learning to help meet all of my students' needs. Each day my students show me that the more they move, the more engaged they are in what we are learning. I allow my students to move freely around the classroom and find a seating area that works best for them.
My students come to school each day excited to see what we are learning next.

My Project
I have 25 students in my classroom in a large school that has 78 fourth graders. Most of my students struggle with staying focused in class. Studies have shown that students who move more can focus better and have better test scores. By using the yoga balls, camp chairs, and textured seat cushions, my students will have a choice in seating. They can choose where they learn best. I have started to implement these choices and we have not had any behavior problems and my students are focused and engaged. I want enough seating choices so that every student in the class has an opportunity to have the seat that is right for them.
