Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
First grade students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My students deserve to start the new school year in a fresh and fun way so they are willing to have a good time while learning.
I am ready to see my students being active (since we know so many students can't be still anyway) and excited to learn.
My Project
I want my students to be excited to come to school and make a decision on where to sit, whether it be on a stability Wobble cushion, a stool, a kneeling cushion or on the rug with encouraging words.
I want to allow my students to start making decisions for themselves.
They will work collaboratively while using these seating options that are easily moved to different parts of the classroom.
These flexible seating options will allow my students to find seating that helps them be comfortable while also being in the best learning environment for them. They will have access to alternative seating, and to traditional seating, as well.
