I teach a wonderfully diverse group of second graders at a public school in Rancho Cordova, California.
Each day my students amaze me with their creativity and unique learning styles.
They work hard all year to become avid readers, competent writers, and collaborative problem solvers. They enjoy using math tools to model and solve complex problems, and spend their free time writing their own original books and stories so that they can share them with our class. I am so proud of their hard work and ingenuity!
My Project
The students in my class have a wide range of needs when it comes to seating. Flexible seating options will help them to be able to choose the most comfortable seat to help them focus on their learning.
When independently working, students need to feel focused and able to move to a comfortable spot.
Flexible seating will allow them the option to find a less conventional seating spot in the classroom to help them focus and become more productive.
Our classroom already has scoop chairs, a few lap desks, and some stationary stools. I would like to add more lap desks, floor cushions and wobble chairs.
