Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a suburb of Los Angeles with a wonderful group of students. We are diverse group with many different abilities and needs. I love being their teacher and look forward to coming to school every day to see and teach them.
These kids are very active and like to be moving throughout the day when they are learning.
My students have had a rough year, with many different teachers from August to December. They have had many negative interactions when it comes to learning this year and I want to change that. Learning needs to be engaging and active! I am starting 2020 with them and want to make the rest of the school year great! They are a wonderful group of kids and they deserve to have an excellent year.
My Project
My students are very active and are constantly moving throughout the day. Having these items will help my students to choose seats in which they will learn best while supporting their movement needs.
My students want to succeed, but sitting still all day can make learning difficult.
I like to teach through small group instruction where I will teach 6 students at a time while the rest of the class is grouped for different independent activities that reinforce the current concept or reviews past concepts. Having these seating options available will help my students choose smart seats to stay focused when they need to complete independent work.
