Help me give my students some flexible seating with portable lap desks, chair balls, and flexible chair kick bands. These materials will help our students focus more in the classroom and have a choice on where to sit.
Our students are always ready to learn in kindergarten! Each day of kindergarten brings new ideas to learn about. As the school year moves on, my students will continue to grow.
Our class has eager kindergartners ready to learn and explore new things every day!
We have an ICT kindergarten class with special education students, general education students, as well as English language learner (ELL) students.
Some of our students have autism, are emotional disturbed, and have learning disabilities. Our classroom is filled with many different faces. Our school is a Title I school.
Many of our students come to school with smiles on their faces wanting to know what we are learning next. Many of them have never attended school before or have written the letters of the alphabet. As the school year progresses, we get new students coming in and they too are ready to learn.
My Project
This is our first year back in the classroom and we are excited to learn. Having flexible seating allows our students to make the choices that work best for them and help them focus on learning. Throughout the day, our students are to sit at their tables. There are times that they will sit or lay on their floor to complete their work. Giving our students a choice and making sure they are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that we have selected will help our students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The stable balls will still allow some movement, as well as the chair bands. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! The cushion floor desk seats will allow for comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
Choice is so important and our students work well when given flexible seating options.
