Help me give my students fun seating options like beanbags, a couch, and desks with wheels to move around the classroom. This will help them to focus and remain on task for longer periods!
My students come from a small town in rural Pennsylvania. Our school houses close to six hundred students from grades K-5. My students are in grades three, four and five. I teach them in a small group, learning support classroom using intensive direct instructional programs.
My students are truly amazing!
They may struggle with academics, but they work so hard everyday to be the best they can be! I want to help my students achieve and develop a lifelong love of learning with your help!
My Project
I teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in a learning support setting. Everything I do in the classroom is based on individual student needs, except for the furniture. I think it's time for an upgrade! We aren't a traditional classroom, so flexible seating arrangements will ensure student success!
If my students are able to move around the classroom and have a variety of options for seating, they are more likely to remain on task during instruction.
If they remain on task longer, their achievement will increase significantly!
I teach using the best practices for my students, and it's time that the classroom furniture gets an upgrade for the better!
Being able to read in a bean bag, or complete their math assignment on the classroom couch will also be great incentives for student behavior! I am so excited for the possibilities!
