My first grade students live in a rural community and attend a Title 1 school. Being part of a small school district in a low income area presents its own set of challenges. We have a diverse group of learners that require individual learning plans to meet both academic and emotional needs.
Each day my students arrive ready to learn and explore.
They love working together and encouraging each other. I strive to provide experiences and lessons that will keep them curious and eager to learn.
My Project
My students are very excited learners and love to move around the room. I have chosen the cozy seating bench and chair along with the wobble chairs as alternative seating for my students. Currently, they kneel or stand by tables and lay in the floor. With additional seating options, students would be able to choose a more comfortable space to work.
My daily goal is to provide a positive, comfortable and inspiring environment for all of my students.
I teach in an inclusive environment. Some of my students require accommodations due to having ADHD and other learning difficulties. The wobble chairs are known to have a very positive impact on a child's focus and enthusiasm!
