My Students
We are a small, public, charter school located in the rural town of Clarksburg in the Sacramento Delta region. Our school family has students in grades TK-6. Our students come from many communities up and down the Sacramento River, which means we serve students from a variety of backgrounds and needs. We provide services to a significant ELL population and a growing Special Education population. We remind our students daily that they are leaders and scholars who will change the world!
My Project
These materials will provide our classroom family with more possibilities for flexible seating. I want to be able to provide more options than I have students to ensure multiple choices and areas in our classroom. My first graders thrive on the power of choice for where they will work and learn best during our day. Flexible seating in our classroom helps with focus, engagement, and social and academic success. Having a variety of options in our classroom will help my variety of learners. I want my students to feel comfortable in their environment so that they can be confident in their environment. Our classroom is truly a place for THEM.
