Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
2nd grade is a time for students to dive deeper into their writing, reading, and math concepts. This could mean much more seat/desk time than in previous years. However, we are looking for ways to create an engaging and interactive learning experience for our students!
We aim to provide a student driven and inquiry based learning experience for our scholars while ensuring all students reach or excede grade level expectations.
Our school serves a diverse group of students from the Riverside area.
My Project
Our classroom needs supplies to create an effective flexible seating classroom. Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to take control over their learning. Students must reflect on their unique needs and select a seat that will help them be the most productive. Currently, students in our classroom, are able to select where they would like to sit. However, due to the limited choices in seating, most students are either sitting in chairs or on the floor. The flexible seating options we have requested will establish more exciting options and the storage containers will ensure students have a place to keep their belongings. Flexible seating will create a student centered learning environment that will support various learning styles.
