Help me give my students the gift of flexible seating and a cozy library that they will love! I am looking to give my students the opportunity to read in a library that feels like HOME!
I currently teach 3rd grade in a charter school in San Diego. My students live in a neighborhood of high poverty where 100% of students fall below the poverty line and all receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are brave, incredibly kind students who deserve all the resources that other students do!
Many of my students face everyday struggles and hardships which are beyond anything I can ever imagine.
I teach students which the majority do not speak English as their primary language. Some students face homelessness, and most seek school as a safe haven.
I am so excited to work with this incredible group of kiddos who I will ensure will feel loved, valued, and cherished every single day!
My Project
This project will help me create an environment for my students that feels like home. I want to create a space for students to work where they feel comfortable.
I am hoping to create a classroom library which contains a small tent with pillow, a comfortable carpet, and a comfortable seat to give students a safe place to read where they feel as if our classroom is a home.
My students have received all of the books they could ever need and a classroom family where they feel like "home". I now just need help with the funding to give all the little bodies inside this family a place to sit while they read :)
