My Students
In my classroom, I have a wide range of reading abilities. I have students that are scoring well above grade level in math and reading and I have students that are below grade level in math and reading. It is a challenge to find activities to interest all of my students and accommodate their wide range of abilities and learning styles.
I teach at a state funded charter school in Southern Nevada.
In my classroom, I teach 25 third grade students. They are very eager to learn and I am eager to teach them.
My Project
We are a new school this year, so we are starting from scratch. We do have some of the materials that an established school would have, but we would love to enhance our students' learning by using more flexible seating options.
Because all students learn and focus differently, it is essential to have materials such as like wiggle seats, noise canceling headphones, and clipboards to allow those students to be comfortable.
They will be able to move around without disrupting their learning or the learning of others. Students with autism, anxiety, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders, all benefit from flexible seating options and reduced distractions.
