Help me give my students a variety of seating options and opportunities to be independent.

Developmental Kindergarten is such an exciting group of students with mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush. Our group loves to read, learn new words, and write about themselves and the world around them.
In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. My classroom is about building skills that will make students developmentally ready for their next level. The work we do in our classroom helps with building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
We are working in a classroom that looks the same as it did 70 years ago. Students are sitting in desks and chairs all day, and many are struggling to stay focused. Many adults do not work all day sitting down at a desk, and my students will not work that way when they leave school and enter the workforce.
I want to provide them with a variety of seating choices so they have an option to choose what works best for them as an individual student.
My students need a variety of seating options including seat cushions, stools and stands for their tablets so they are able to be independent.
My students will love being able to choose seating options as they work independently in our classroom.
Through research, I have seen fantastic results from classrooms with open seating options for their students. I know my students would benefit as well, and I can't wait to see their excitement, as well as engagement, increase with our new seating options.
